The TMU Bold needed to get their season back on track, and they did just that after tearing apart the Algoma Thunderbirds. The Bold won the game by a whopping 49 points en route to their second victory of the season.
Second-year player, Aaron Rhooms, led all scorers with 25 points while teammate David Walker chipped in with 21 points. On the other side, Algoma's Adrian Deere finished with 17 points. These were the only three players to finish with double-digit scoring. The two leading scorers for the Bold seem to have great chemistry on the court, whether it be while they're on offence or defence. David Walker said postgame:
"That's my twin on the court. He knows what I'm gonna do, and I know what he's gonna do."
The offence has been starting to click for the Bold, and this was the perfect game for them to build some momentum. After shooting 2-19 from distance in the first half, the Bold shot 10-16 from deep in the second half.
The Bold put up 94 points with only two guys in double figures, which is astonishing, but when you look closer at the stat sheet, the team is just that deep. Every player on the team scored during the win, which goes to show you just how well the ball moves. The team finished with 22 assists, with Ankit Choudhary leading the group, totalling 8 assists. Head Coach David DeAveiro stated when asked about Ankit as a supporting player:
"So 8 assists to me is the stat that stands out the most."

TMU has had their fair share of close games to begin the season, with all three of its losses being fourth-quarter comebacks by the opposing team. In their two wins, they have an average margin of victory of 48.5 points. This game previewed the ceiling of this team and just how scary they can be. Aaron Rhooms replied when asked if that's what we'll be seeing the rest of the season:
"Most definitely. This is the type of basketball we want to play."
While the offence looked great, the defence was just as phenomenal. TMU forced 28 turnovers, had 18(!) steals, and 8 blocks and held Algoma to 24% shooting from the field. After being outplayed in the second quarter, the Bold responded by outscoring the Thunderbirds 35-3 in the third quarter, eventually putting the game away.

TMU (2-3) will be heading on a four-game road trip, starting off by playing at Laurentian (1-5), who have lost their last 4 games.
